Belief Statement
Section 1: The Bible
We affirm the Bible, comprising the Old and New Testaments, as the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God (Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is inerrant in its original writings and serves as the final authority for faith and practice (2 Peter 1:21).
Section 2: God
We believe in one God, Creator of all, revealed in three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—yet unified in essence (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14). God is eternal, infinite, sovereign, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, unchanging, holy, just, righteous, loving, gracious, merciful, and good (Psalm 90:2; 1 Timothy 1:17; Psalm 93:1; Psalm 139:1-6, 7-13; Revelation 19:6; Malachi 3:6; Isaiah 6:3; Deuteronomy 32:4; Romans 8:28; 1 John 4:8; Ephesians 2:8; 1 Peter 1:3; Romans 8:28).
Section 3: Jesus Christ
We affirm the deity of Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for humanity's sins, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and reigns as Lord (Matthew 1:21; John 1:18; Colossians 1:15; 1 John 3:5; John 14:6; Isaiah 53:5-6; John 1:12; Acts 16:31; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 1:7; Matthew 28:6; Romans 14:9; Hebrews 7:25).
Section 4: The Holy Spirit
We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit, who regenerates sinners, indwells believers, baptizes believers into Christ's body, seals believers for salvation, and illuminates believers' understanding of God's Word (Acts 5:3-4; Titus 3:5; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14; 1 Corinthians 2:9-12).
Section 5: Angels and Demons
We affirm the reality and personality of angels as God's servants and messengers. We also affirm the existence and personality of Satan and demons, who rebelled against God and face eternal punishment (Nehemiah 9:6; Matthew 25:41; Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:12-15).
Section 6: Humanity
We believe humanity is uniquely created in God's image, but due to Adam's fall, all inherit a sinful nature and are unable to remedy this state on their own (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-5,12).
Section 7: Salvation
Salvation is a gift of God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ's finished work on the cross. It is received by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Good works result from salvation but do not contribute to it. Believers are eternally secure in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5:8-9; John 6:37-40).
Section 8: The Church
The Church, the Body of Christ, comprises all believers and is called to obey Christ's teachings, testify to their faith, and spread the gospel. Baptism and the Lord's Supper symbolize believers' identification with Christ and remembrance of His sacrifice (1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42).
Section 9: Things to Come
We anticipate the imminent return of Jesus Christ to rapture believers and establish His millennial kingdom. All humanity will experience physical resurrection and face eternal destiny based on their relationship with Christ (Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:5-6, 12-13).
